Hugh Potter

For almost thirty years, Hugh has acted on behalf of clients with severe brain and spinal cord injuries achieving record settlements with a reputation recognised nationally. He developed an interest in these serious injuries when he worked as a nurse during university holidays at a neurological hospital.

Hugh established Potter Rees Dolan to provide legal services to those who have sustained devastating injuries and has volunteered at Headway for over 25 years.

Hugh’s dream job would be a zoologist where he could study life, animals and work in the outdoors covered in soil and, fittingly, David Attenborough would be one of the guests at his ultimate dinner party.

With a love for the outdoors, Hugh enjoys cycling, mountain biking and wild swimming and loves nothing more than a long hike in the mountains in the Lakes followed by a few speciality beers in the local.

Chambers 2019 says:
Hugh Potter is recognised by market sources for expertise in severe injury cases, noting that he is "renowned for his brain injury work," while other sources say he is "very good with catastrophic cases." He often handles complex claims pertaining to spinal cord and brain injuries.

Previous comments from Chambers 2018 included the following: sources confirm his prominent reputation in the market, one describing him as a "very efficient practitioner."

Legal 500 says:

The ‘diligent and approachableHugh Potter is an ‘excellent communicator’.
