Rachel Rees
Rachel is a Solicitor Consultant with our Personal Injury department, and one of the founding members of the firm. Specialising in catastrophic brain injury, spinal cord injury and amputee cases, Rachel has a particular interest in Post Concussion and Dysexecutive Syndromes.
Education & career
Rachel qualified as a solicitor in 1989 and was a partner at another UK firm, before she was appointed partner at Hugh Potter & Co in 1999.
Rachel has over 25 years' experience in brain and spinal injuries, working closely with many individuals who until compensation is available sadly often don't have the support they badly need. She has seen the devastating impact this can have and is committed to working to relieve that burden by getting families the help they need so they may thrive and get some joy back in their lives. Rachel is known for fighting some of the most difficult liability cases up to and including contested trials, when her tenacious approach and scrupulous attention to the detail has been instrumental in securing notable successful outcomes.
Charity work
Rachel has volunteered at the Stockport branch of Headway (The Brain Injury Association) for 26 years and was instrumental in setting up and managing the group’s hugely popular weekly social 'drop in' session. In her own time she is strongly committed to providing pro bono assistance with welfare benefit entitlement to local members of Headway. Rachel was immensely proud when in 2013 and 2018 she was nominated by group members for the Headway UK 'Volunteer of the Year Award', and again when she was named winner of ‘The Stephen McAleese Outstanding Contribution to Headway Award’ in 2019.
